Private Women’s Club Lounge
This glorious matte-black-and-gold mural, installed in a historic private club's lounge, was inspired by the 1920's French designer Armand-Albert Rateau's lacquer screens. The 12' H x 60’ L mural features a stylized huntress Diana and a variety of flora and fauna in a peaceful kingdom.
This project is a perfect example of the transformative power of murals and reflects exactly why I drawn to painting wall murals. It was an honor to talk about the immersive, transformative power of murals with Steven Kurutz of the New York Times. Thank you to the NY Times Design Section team for including me in the March 8th article titled "Unconstrained by Frames, an Artist Looks for New Spaces". Thank you to all involved for promoting the magic of murals, an art form too often overlooked.
Winner of the Stanford White Award for Best Interior Design for One Room with Lichten Craig Architecture and Interiors with Anne Harris Studio. The design team was heaven-sent, an embarrassment of talent and vision.
