Bird Painting
A visit to Orient Village and an encounter with a turkey brood sent me into a focused look at our fine feathered friends. The loss of species, dwindling numbers, and their prehistoric origins made me want to study them in detail. What is it about their shape, scaliness, and oddly shaped claws that look so other-worldly? So I made them grander. At around 6' x 4', each of these paintings are huge and the impact of seeing them in person is indescribable.
